Wark seating element was designed during my studies at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, within the scope of the Furniture Application Class. I drew inspiration from the concepts of art and artistic process. I chose sheet metal--a material that can be easily shaped as primary element because art is both versatile and subjective. For construction's outer frame, I planned to use steel, a more rigid material, to create a form with defined boundaries, much like a canvas.

While shaping the product, I considered several factors: it needed to have a shelf structure to provide convenience while painting, the material and production process had to be feasible, and overall, the piece had to balance both aesthetics and functionality.

I envisioned the Wark Stool Colllection with two material variations and unlimited color options. Due to production costs, I created  the MDF Lam variation by hand in the class, working with machines in a limited space. I personally completed all stages of the process in the class, which allowed me to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing, measurement and planning.

This piece has since become an object I enjoy using every time I paint.
